Tim Keller describes God's heart for the problem of pain in all its forms when he says, "God so loves us and hates suffering that He was willing to come down and get involved in it (suffering)."
"Get involved" is SUCH an innocuous term when THAT involvement was the death of God the Son!
There is a HUGE difference between the chicken's and the pig's "involvement" with the breakfast menu. The chicken is involved in the process of producing an egg to contribute. The pig is committed to the bacon. Bacon is a life-altering event for the pig!
Jesus' death was INVOLVEMENT to the max in our sin and pain! His commitment went far beyond involvement! His death and resurrection are life-altering events for you and me because He was willing to be committed to the cross!
