God watches and listens for the cries of the righteous. (2 Chron. 16:9a) God delivers the righteous from their pain and trouble - pain and trouble that come through His nail pierced hands. God is close to the broken hearted and saves those whose spirits are crushed. God always meets us where we are when we call to Him, regardless of our feelings.
